Mental Health for Managers

The Mental Health Commission of Canada indicates that 1 in 5 Canadians will experience a mental health problem or illness this year. In 2011 mental health problems cost businesses more than $6 billion in lost productivity.

Awareness of workplace mental health is increasing, but a gap remains in the availability of resources to help employers implement programs and train their staff to recognize and respond effectively to mental health issues.

Developed in partnership with NorQuest College, our Mental Health for Managers course is designed to help your senior level staff understand how to support your employees with mental health issues.

This is a fun, interactive, and easy to digest educational course that aims to breakdown mental health stigma and supports crucial conversations about mental health.

You will gain a preliminary knowledge of common mental health problems that you may or may not have noticed in your current workplace environment. Whether you are at home or at your workplace, you will gain confidence to reach out and support the people in your life. This course also helps you recognize when to reach out for additional support from a health professional.

Please note that this is an awareness course and is not a for credit mental health course. For more information on for credit, certification courses, please visit NorQuest College for more information.
